WWE Tribute to the Troops has featured some major names in the past. From Shawn Michaels to The Undertaker to JBL, these legends traveled all the way to the Middle East to show their support to US troops back in the day.
Speaking of JBL, the Hall of Famer recently revealed an unusual appearance he had on WWE Tribute to the Troops. Speaking during a recent edition of What Were They Thinking? on Backstage Pass, the former world champion recalled getting "mortared" at a Tribute to the Troops taping in Iraq years ago.
"We're surrounded by the US military. You know, we're surrounded by the greatest military in the history of the world. So not really. I never felt like I was in fear of my life. I mean, we, we got mortared in one performance, and we had to stop the performance and do it later," he said. [14:13 onwards]
Elsewhere on the podcast, JBL put over Michael Cole for reporting on the Iraq War, noting the WWE commentator got a medal for reporting on the war after almost getting destroyed by mortar.
