WWE Superstar Montez Ford recently talked about comparisons between his new faction and the Hurt Business.
The Hurt Business, consisting of Bobby Lashley, MVP, Shelton Benjamin, and Cedric Alexander, was one of the most popular stables during WWE's ThunderDome era. When the Street Profits recently allied with Lashley, fans quickly compared the groups.
During a recent Q&A with Joseph Staszewski of The New York Post, Ford was asked about these comparisons. The former tag team champion quickly dismissed this as he claimed they were 'something different.'
"I feel like fans are gonna make comparisons to whatever is common to them or can make the best comparison to them. I didn’t feel like we’re a new Hurt Business. I don’t feel like we’re a new anything. We’re just something different. We’re not an evolution of what was. We are a new version of what is and what’s going to be. You don’t see one person that’s still the same in a new group, but it’s called the old group’s name. It just doesn’t work that way," he said. [ H/T The New York Post ]
It will be interesting to see what the future holds for the newly-formed group.
WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio is scheduled to face Bobby Lashley on SmackDown
The group of Bobby Lashley and Street Profits have been at loggerheads with the Latino World Order for some time now.
After the newly formed group's vicious attack on LWO last week, it was confirmed that both factions would be involved in a six-man tag team match at this week's WWE Fastlane.
Ahead of the massive showdown, it has been announced that Lashley will face the current United States Champion, Mysterio, in a singles competition on SmackDown this week.
It will be interesting to see which of these two former WWE champions can gain much-needed momentum ahead of their Fastlane bout.
