The Rock seemingly ended his feud with Cody Rhodes on RAW's premiere episode on Netflix last Monday. A recent report suggests that the beef is officially squashed, but fans are upset that they didn't get to see a payoff from The Final Boss and The American Nightmare's intriguing storyline.
According to Fightful Select, WWE filmed a segment between Rocky and Rhodes at the Moana 2 premiere in Hawaii in November 2024. It was famously attended by Rhodes' family, as well as Seth Rollins, Becky Lynch and their daughter, Roux.
The segment was not made public, but it was reportedly meant to end the feud between The Rock and Rhodes. It was similar to what the two did on RAW when they hashed it out at ringside on WWE television and backstage during The Final Boss' Instagram Live session.
Some members of the WWE Universe had mixed emotions and questions regarding what happened last Monday. With Rocky seemingly prioritizing the reshoots for Moana 2, the feud is most likely finished.
"We want Rock vs. Roman anyway," a fan tweeted.
"Release the Moana Cut," one fan urged.
"What a way to ruin one of the top heel acts," another fan claimed.
"They really want to make Cody look like a pushover," a fan wrote.
Some fans questioned the purpose behind Rocky and Rhodes' interactions in the past.
"So why he slash his throat with 3 fingers?" one fan questioned.
"So we'll never know what Rock handed Cody?" another fan asked.
While The Rock left a few questions regarding his feud with Cody Rhodes, it's part of the business given how in-demand The Final Boss is in Hollywood.
WWE Hall of Famer believes The Rock will be at WrestleMania 41
Despite multiple reports about The Rock's availability for WrestleMania 41, WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff is not giving up hope. Bischoff revealed on the latest episode of his 83 Weeks podcast that he expected The Final Boss to be at The Grandest Stage of Them All in Las Vegas.
"The guy just bought almost 100,000 shares of TKO stock. You think he’s not gonna try to move a needle any time he’s got the opportunity? I don’t think so. I think he loves this, there’s no downside. Now, if he’s got a movie project and he’s contractually not able to participate in WrestleMania, I get that. That’s business. But unless that’s the case, I wouldn’t be so quick to write anything off at this point," Bischoff said. [H/T: Fightful]
If The Rock doesn't get physical at WrestleMania 41, he'll most likely hype the crowd and deliver a promo, just like on RAW's debut on Netflix.
