The Canadian Tire Center, in Ottawa, Ontario were in for a treat tonight, as they saw their favourite Smackdown stars in action.
In the main event of the show, Ottawa witnessed a ladder match between WWE World Champion AJ Styles and his long term nemesis, team Smackdown mascot James Ellsworth for possession of Ellsworth’s WWE contract.
As the curtains were drawn on a victorious James Ellsworth standing tall with his friend Dean Ambrose, the show continued with two more matches, with one being a dark match and the other a taping for WWE Main Event.
The first of the two matches saw Dean Ambrose and Kane defeating the Wyatt family in a dark match, the second (taped) match was between Alexa Bliss and Naomi for WWE Main Event.
While the predominant theme running through Smackdown Live had been that Dean Ambrose was banned from the building, he would show up at several times through the night, at times costumed as infamous WWE legends The Mountie and The Goon!
Despite Shane McMahon banning him from the building, Ambrose would team up with the Big Red Monster Kane against the Wyatt Family featuring Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper in an untelevised dark match.
After a hard fought match, Ambrose would deliver a Dirty Deeds, while Kane would simultaneously deliver the Chokeslam, to ensure victory for this one night only alliance.
It is to be noted that Randy Orton was absent from Smackdown today, after standing tall with the Wyatts at Survivor Series. This is because Orton and his wife welcomed a new baby into this world, their daughter, Brooklyn Rose Orton.

Randy Orton was part of a pre-taped televised segment on Smackdown with the Wyatts however when they challenged the winners of the Tag Team Turmoil match – American Alpha. American Alpha will have to defeat the Wyatts before they could cement their claim as the #1 contenders for Heath Slater and Rhyno’s tag team titles.
WWE left Ottawa on a high note!
