Cody Rhodes and Gunther respectively hold the two prestigious world titles WWE has today. They are the top guys of their respective brands, who are set to lock horns on November 2 for bragging rights and the Crown Jewel Championship at the eponymous premium live event.
For Montez Ford of the Street Profits, It is not a matter of which belt, but standing alongside these names in terms of status within the company. Ford feels he has been stagnant for quite some time now.
Speaking on the Daily Star, Montez Ford said he was not satisfied with where he was at. He talked about not winning a title since he and Angelo Dawkins dropped the SmackDown Tag Team Championship a few years ago. He also said that he had upped his training to be in the best shape possible and that he and his partner were doing everything possible, and wondered if something needed to change.
"Right after we [the Street Profits] lost the SmackDown Tag Team Championship, we never had no success since then. We've been the same tag team. We've been doing the same things. We have the same passion. I've actually upped my training to be in the best shape of my life, and there's still no success. So now these questions pop in my head — What I need to get rid of? What do I need to add? What do I need to subtract? What am I doing wrong? What do I need to change?" Montez Ford stated.
He further said that he was confident that he was world champion material, and nobody could take that away from him. However, in order to get there, he feels a shift in character could be required, assuming the WWE Universe also felt the same way.
"I know that I am a World Champion, a World Heavyweight Champion material, and nobody can take that away from me," he added. [From 6:57 onwards]
