What Naomi did after losing on SmackDown has left wrestling veteran very confused (Exclusive)

It wasn't the best night to be a Naomi fan, as the WWE Superstar fell short in a high-stakes SmackDown match against Bayley. Despite the loss, Vince Russo was surprised to see Naomi happy backstage and questioned whether it was the ideal reaction.

While they've been on the same side in a feud against Nia Jax and Tiffanny Stratton, Naomi, and Bayley had to face each other this week for a shot at the WWE Women's Championship.

The former SmackDown Women's Champions put together an excellent match that ended with Bayley raising her arms in victory. Naomi initially looked dejected after the bout as she walked down the ramp, but her mood seemingly changed once she got backstage.

As revealed on Sportskeeda Wrestling's exclusive BroDown podcast, Vince Russo found it odd that Naomi was in good spirits behind the scenes after losing another big match on SmackDown. Russo felt that WWE Superstars and their characters always needed to be portrayed as fierce competitors, and in Naomi's case, he was somewhat confused about her intentions.

The former WWE writer explained after SmackDown:

"Can someone explain to me what Naomi was so happy about? She just lost a title shot. Bro, I thought we were supposed to be competitors here. I thought we all wanted to be the champion. She just lost her title shot, and she is smiling and hugging Bayley." [From 16:16 to 16:41]
