WWE Superstar Asuka is currently out of action due to an unfortunate injury. Amid her current absence from the squared circle, an old video of her has recently surfaced online.
The Damage CTRL member's last in-ring appearance was at WWE Backlash: France as The Kabuki Warriors defended the Women's Tag Team Championship against Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill. The 42-year-old reportedly competed at the premium live event carrying a leg injury. The Japanese duo fought hard but could not retain the titles.
The former WWE RAW Women's Champion recently shared an update from a hospital bed confirming the rumors of her injury. Now, an old video of her competing in a match outside the company has resurfaced. The contest also featured her current stable mate, IYO SKY, who can be seen missing her drop kick in the video, to which The Empress of Tomorrow had a hilarious reaction.

Former WWE champion picks Asuka as her dream opponent
Asuka is arguably one of the best in-ring performers on WWE's female roster. The Japanese professional wrestler has had multiple championship reigns throughout her stint with the Stamford-based company. Former WWE Women's Tag Team Champion Sonya Deville recently chose The Empress of Tomorrow as her dream opponent.
During an appearance on INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet, the 30-year-old recalled her matches with the fellow WWE Superstar at NXT. Sonya further mentioned that she wanted to have an extended feud with the latter on the main roster:
“I’ve had a million matches with her but not a lot televised, and never a singles televised to my knowledge. Asuka is one of my favorite opponents. We would have awesome matches down in NXT seven years ago, eight years ago, on live events and road loops. And it was my favorite match to this day, but we never got an angle on TV. And then it would be like, I go to RAW, she got to SmackDown, she go to SmackDown, I go to RAW and we just keep playing tag and not catching each other. So I was like, if I could paint the perfect picture, I would love to have like a two-three seg match with Asuka and just mess each other up," said Deville. [H/T - Chris Van Vliet]
The Damage CTRL members continue to look out of sorts following their move to the red brand in the WWE Draft 2024. Former Women's Champion IYO SKY is slowly but surely getting frustrated each week, teasing a potential breaking up of the heel faction.
