"Whose fault is it?" - Hall of Famers addresses complaint against WWE programming, say they are not "idiots" (Exclusive)

A recent complaint against a particular part of WWE programming has caught the attention of veterans. According to NWA Hall of Famer Bill Apter and WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long, the on-screen personalities are not to blame.

During matches on RAW and SmackDown, commentators are generally very diligent and describe the scene accurately. Furthermore, they also provide context for the action in the ring when required. Their responsibilities also include making other announcements, which may not relate directly to the match in progress. According to some, this has taken up too much time during matches and has distracted fans.

Speaking about these complaints on Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Time Machine hosted by Mac Davis, Bill Apter stated:

"There has to be someone in their ear. But they have a certain amount of things that they have to get out within that two-hour period of time... Who's fault is it? The people that lay out the show." [7:38 onwards]

WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long had a similar opinion

Adding to Bill Apter's comments, Teddy Long shared his opinion and defended the commentators.

Speaking on the same episode of Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Time Machine hosted by Mac Davis, the WWE Hall of Famer said that a production meeting generally made the plans for how the show would pan out. He said:

"These guys aren't doing something on their own. They are (doing) what they are being told to do... In the production meeting that night. I wouldn't label them as idiots, you know what I mean." [8:00 onwards]

For now, it remains to be seen if the production team will address these concerns down the line as well.
