Former WWE head writer Vince Russo recently discussed Drew McIntyre competing in the main event of RAW. The star faced Sami Zayn.
Earlier in the evening, Zayn confronted Drew McIntyre, and the two engaged in a vicious war of words. Drew tried to hit a Claymore but Jey Uso came out to make the save. This segment led to a match being made official between the two stars for the show's main event.
This week on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Legion of RAW, Russo questioned the need for another Drew-Sami matchup. He noted that the announcers also said that Sami had not defeated the Scottish Warrior in ten of their previous encounters. The veteran writer felt that was a compelling stat and WWE should never have booked this encounter.
"Let's talk about the main event for a second. We got Sami Zayn and Drew again. They actually tell us Sami is 0-10 against Drew McIntyre. Then why are we having this match?" [From 50:55 onwards]

Drew maintained his unbeaten streak against Sami once again as he pinned the star after a vicious Claymore.
The Scottish Warrior then unleashed a post-match beatdown on Sami. This was compounded when Solo Sikoa and the rest of The Bloodline showed up and demolished Sami and Jey Uso.
