The buildup for a potential World Heavyweight Championship match between Sami Zayn and Gunther at Bad Blood continued on WWE RAW last night. However, wrestling veteran Vince Russo was not impressed with the former Bloodline member's promo against the Ring General.
Sami Zayn has been trying to get a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship for the last few weeks, but Gunther has so far refused his challenge. Sami reiterated this on RAW this week, stating that he needs to be a world champion, something that has eluded him his whole WWE career.
Speaking about the segment on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Legion of RAW, Vince Russo noted how Bret Hart never used to say something in his promo if he knew that would not happen.
"The hundreds of Bret Hart promos that I produced, Bret was the one that taught me, ‘Vince, when I know I am going under, I never say I am gonna win the match. When I know I am doing the job, I never say in my promo I am gonna win because that’s how my fanbase will lose faith in me. I can’t say I am gonna win and then lose. When I know I am going under, I will say everything else in the book, but I’ll never say I am gonna win the match,’" Russo said.

The former WWE writer then called out Sami Zayn for his comments on RAW:
"When Sami Zayn is saying, 'I need to be the world champion,' first of all, why would you ever say that if you’re never going to be the world champion? So now, I am thinking to myself, 'Is he saying that because they are actually going to make him the world champion?' Why would you say that if you know it’s never going to happen? What does that do for you?" [From 57:58 onwards]
Gunther once again rejected Sami Zayn's challenge on WWE RAW. The Ring General and Ludwig Kaiser also attempted to beat down the former Intercontinental Champion but he was able to turn around the situation to take out Kaiser.
