William Regal was in Lexis King's corner during the latter's match against Charlie Dempsey for the Heritage Cup on the latest episode of NXT. The WWE legend tried to end his own son's championship reign.

During the match, Dempsey took down Lexis King with a suplex. The champion had his No Quarter Catch Crew at ringside while the Regal accompanied King. Lexis hit an arm drag and locked his opponent in a submission hold. Charlie Dempsey hit Lexis King with an uppercut but got planted with a suplex.

King took down the NXT Heritage Cup Champion with a crossbody off the top rope. Dempsey nailed the challenger with a butterfly suplex and got a three count, winning the first fall. William Regal kept giving Lexis King some instructions in the corner. After the bell rang, Charlie Dempsey immediately rocked Lexis King with a clothesline and hit him with a few vicious knee strikes.

King botched a landing on the apron and injured his leg, affecting him throughout the match. He planted Dempsey with a suplex and hit a superkick, but the time expired, which meant round 2 was over. After the third round started, Dempsey hit a few gut-wrench suplexes.

William Regal tried to hand Lexis King some brass knuckles so the 31-year-old could use them against his own son, Charlie Dempsey, and become the new NXT Heritage Cup Champion. However, King refused. Dempsey suplexed him and won the match to retain the title.
