Edge has been one of the most decorated superstars in the company's history over the past two decades. However, the Rated R Superstar came out of retirement in 2020 to face new stars and challengers in WWE. Fans are excited about the possibility of the Ultimate Opportunist going up against Bobby Lashley soon.
Last night, Triple H announced that a new tournament would take place to determine the final two competitors who will face each other for the new World Heavyweight Championship. WWE veterans and stars from both RAW and SmackDown will be in the upcoming tournament.
Superstars such as AJ Styles, Edge, Austin Theory, Sheamus, Rey Mysterio, and Bobby Lashley will participate in the tournament. This led to the wrestling world getting excited over the possibility of The Rated R Superstar vs. The All Mighty in the not-to-distant future, with fans also questioning which star has the better spear amongst the two.

The match between Edge and Bobby Lashley could be one for ages, as the two stars had very few interactions over the past decade.
Edge is set to return to WWE SmackDown for the first time after WrestleMania 39
Earlier this year, the Rated R Superstar made a shocking return to the company to resume his feud with The Judgment Day. He returned along with his wife Beth Phoenix, and the two stars competed in a mixed tag team match at WWE Elimination Chamber 2023, where they defeated Finn Balor and Rhea Ripley.
After the event, Finn Balor interfered in the Rated-R Superstar's championship match against United States Champion Austin Theory. Balor later attacked Edge and issued a statement. The Ultimate Opportunist challenged The Prince for a match at WrestleMania 39.
The two stars met inside Hell in a Cell at the Grandest Stage of Them All, where Balor brought his Demon persona to fight the former world champion. In the end, the Rated-R Superstar ended his long-standing feud with The Judgment Day nearly a year after he created the stable on the red brand.
After the event, the WWE Hall of Famer was not seen on weekly television. Last month, the Rated-R Superstar was drafted to the blue brand during the annual event. It will be interesting to see which superstar Edge will go after he returns to SmackDown for the World Heavyweight Championship tournament.
