Wrestling legend and former manager Kenny Bolin recently spoke about CM Punk taking a loss at SummerSlam 2024. The star faced off against Drew McIntyre at the grand event.
Huge drama unfolded at SummerSlam as CM Punk and Drew McIntyre took to the ring with Seth Rollins as the special guest referee. Punk's obsession with the wristband bearing his wife and dog's name ultimately cost him the match as McIntyre kicked him below the belt and Rollins made the count.
During an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda Wrestling, Bolin detailed how he and CM Punk had differences back in the day. He even felt the RAW Superstar had problems in every company he worked for.
"It's been 10 years since he's worked in WWE. Punk and I had our differences in OVW. We had good times, we had bad times. Sometimes, he could be a prick. Every locker room that's ever worked with Punk has seen that. You're lying to me if you tell me you haven't. Punk has had times he's a great guy and people have seen that. I've seen both sides of Punk."

Bolin, however, claimed The Second City Saint changed his opinion when he graciously took the fall in his first singles match back after a decade. The veteran lauded Punk for not being selfish and doing what was best for business.
"I've always viewed Punk as a selfish f**k who just wanted what was best for him. That's how I've always viewed him. Tonight, he showed me different. Whether he had any say in the matter or not, I don't know." Bolin continued, "But he did take the fall. I wasn't looking for it. I figured his first match back in 10 years, that f***er's gonna win, it's probably in his contract. And he didn't. So my hats off to him for doing that." [From 41:34 onwards]
In the match's aftermath, Drew McIntyre took the wristband from CM Punk and walked out of the ring. It will be interesting to see what Punk has to say on Monday Night RAW this week.
