Wrestling veteran Disco Inferno recently discussed why WWE hired The Motor City Machine Guns. The stars debuted on the October 18 episode of SmackDown.
The duo of Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin took WWE by storm since their debut. They became the WWE Tag Team Champions just three matches into their tenure with the company. On their road to the titles, they defeated established tag teams like Los Garza, A Town Down Under, #DIY, and the formidable Bloodline.
During a recent episode of Keepin' IT 100, Disco mentioned that WWE saw value in the stars despite their age. He pointed out that there was still a market for wrestlers who could work the 90s and 2000s style. The wrestling veteran felt the stars were innovative in the ring, and their work looked legit and believable.
"This shows you there is still value in the guys that know how to work old-school like 90s, early 2000s style wrestling. If they can still go, there's still value for these guys. The modern wrestlers, they get outside the box doing all these weird stuff. They're innovative but their spot's perfect." [1:10 - 1:32]

Triple H congratulated the Motor City Machine Guns after SmackDown
This past Friday, SmackDown had a historic episode as The Bloodline defended the WWE Tag Team Championships against The Motor City Machine Guns.
Solo Sikoa and his henchmen goaded Shelley and Sabin to face them just after they defeated #DIY. The duo accepted the challenge, and the match got underway. Roman Reigns and The Uso showed up during the encounter to ensure the numbers game didn't overwhelm the babyfaces and neutralized Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu.
Shelley and Sabin took advantage and hit the Skull and Bones on Tonga Loa for the win. Later, Triple H took to social media to congratulate the Motor City Machine Guns and claimed that it was a long time coming for them.
