The Motor City Machine Guns have taken WWE by storm since their debut. They are now the WWE Tag Team Champions after competing in just three matches for the Stamford-based company.
The duo of Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin meant business when they showed up on the October 18, 2024, edition of SmackDown. Last week, they defeated DIY and The Bloodline in back-to-back matches to become the new tag team champions on the blue brand. However, former WWE head writer Vince Russo was skeptical of the push and felt that fans did not know much about their work outside of the Stamford-based company.
On a recent episode of the Keepin' It 100 OFFICIAL podcast, wrestling veteran Disco Inferno detailed that The Motor City Machine Guns had done a great job since their WWE debut. He felt that Russo was just too critical of the show and the creative team. Disco also lauded the tandem for being confident during their appearance and showing charisma which was an important factor for success in the Stamford-based promotion.
"Vince (Russo) sounds like the type of guy now that if you let him in creative, their houses would be cut in half. One thing these guys were doing, they showed a lot of charisma out there and they're playing to the hard cam and showing a lot of personality," Disco Inferno said. [1:31 - 1:49]
