Former WWE manager Jim Cornette recently spoke about Seth Rollins working as the special guest referee at SummerSlam 2024. The Visionary took over officiating duties for the Drew McIntyre vs. CM Punk match at the event.

The animosity between Punk and McIntyre came to a tipping point as RAW general manager Adam Pearce announced their match for SummerSlam. Pearce also said Rollins would be the referee for the encounter. The Visionary had his issues with both stars and claimed that he would allow them to beat each other to a pulp during their match.

On a recent episode of the Jim Cornette Experience, the veteran claimed Seth Rollins was amazing as the referee. He called his skills reminiscent of the old territory days when babyfaces took over refereeing duties. Jim Cornette felt WWE hit a home run with the angle and set up the stage for a huge Triple Threat match in the future.

"When something happened that Seth didn't particularly mind seeing, like Punk is ramming McIntyre's head into the stairs, Seth is tying his shoes. Again, I've seen these spots when I was ten when you had a babyface as a special referee. It works here because it's so old, it's new and nobody has bothered to do this sh*t in a logical manner for so long." [2:28 - 4:00]

Bronson Reed attacked Seth Rollins on RAW

During this week's episode of RAW, Seth Rollins walked out to the ring to confront CM Punk and Drew McIntyre. However, things took a turn for the worse for The Visionary when Bronson Reed launched a surprise attack on him. The star hit six Tsunamis on the former World Heavyweight Champion.

Several officials rushed out to the ring to separate the two men and escort Reed out of the arena. Seth Rollins groaned in pain as WWE personnel tended to him.
