A major stipulation was added to an upcoming title defense by Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes. The American Nightmare captured the title by defeating Roman Reigns in the main event of WrestleMania XL.
It was announced on WWE's official website today that Cody Rhodes will be defending his title in a Bull Rope Match on October 16. The match will take place at a WWE Live Event in Manchester, UK, next month. Gunther will also be defending the World Heavyweight Championship in a Street Fight at the event, and Bayley will be challenging Nia Jax for the WWE Women's Championship.
Solo Sikoa battled Cody Rhodes for the title last month at SummerSlam. Roman Reigns returned during the match and hit Sikoa with a Spear, allowing Rhodes to capitalize and retain the title. Rhodes and Sikoa will be squaring off once again this Friday night on SmackDown in a Steel Cage match with the title on the line.

Bill Apter wants to see Cody Rhodes face popular WWE SmackDown star
Legendary wrestling journalist Bill Apter recently pitched the idea of Cody Rhodes and LA Knight having a rivalry on SmackDown.
LA Knight defeated Logan Paul last month at SummerSlam to capture the United States Championship. Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Smack Talk show, Apter stated that Knight could confront Rhodes in the weeks ahead. He added that he would like to see the feud last until WrestleMania next year in Las Vegas.
"I would love to see that, maybe drag it out till WrestleMania, but I would love to see that where LA Knight says it's undisputed; no one is disputing it, but I am disputing it. I am the champion of the United States, but I want to be the undisputed champion as well, and a match with him and Cody, man!" [30:01 - 31:30]

Rhodes suggested he defend the title against The Bloodline's Jacob Fatu last week, but SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis made the Steel Cage match against Solo Sikoa official for this Friday's show. It will be interesting to see which star leaves this week's SmackDown as champion.
