A WWE authority figure has asked CM Punk to stay home next week. Moreover, he threatened him with severe consequences for disobedience if he didn't oblige.
Adam Pearce has put himself in the middle of CM Punk and Drew McIntyre. The rivalry between these men has only intensified in recent weeks. After Punk cost Drew his title at WrestleMania 40, he continued tormenting and embarrassing him. This resulted in Drew getting his vengeance by attacking him backstage on SmackDown and stealing his bracelet with his wife's and dog's names.
Hence, when Drew cashed in his Money in the Bank contract this weekend, Punk got his retribution by costing him another title match. Following Money in the Bank, a frustrated McIntyre accidentally attacked Adam Pearce when he called out Punk, resulting in his suspension.
Tonight on RAW, CM Punk asked Adam Pearce to lift Drew's suspicion so that they could end this rivalry once and for all. Later in the evening, the duo met again, and the General Manager told him that he would schedule a meeting with Drew McIntyre for next week.
However, he asked Punk to stay home given his nature and warned that if he showed up, his future match with Drew and any title aspirations he might have were out of the window.
It will be interesting to see if Punk will let Adam Pearce handle the situation for now.
