With Triple H at the helm, WWE fans expect almost every talent to be elevated creatively to some degree. However, not all have been lucky enough, as Dutch Mantell feels that the company has no clear goal behind booking Giovanni Vinci.
The former Imperium member was given his NXT gimmick back, and WWE began hyping up his SmackDown debut, which happened against Apollo Crews weeks ago. Vinci would suffer one of the quickest defeats in the brand's history and was left embarrassed by the outcome.
This week on SmackDown, the 34-year-old had the chance to get some retribution in a rematch against Crews. Unfortunately for Giovanni, he lost again despite starting off the match strong.
During the post-show review, Dutch Mantell stated that WWE might not know what they are doing with Giovanni Vinci and just booked him to fill some TV time.
"They don't know (what they are doing with Vinci), they are just putting him out there." [47:00 - 47:15]
Like when Dutch Mantell labeled Maximum Male Models "dead on arrival", Mantell similarly agreed that Giovanni Vinci didn't have a bright future on the main roster given his current status.
"Oh, I'm agreeing with you (On Vinci being 'dead on arrival'), I just don't know. Nobody knows; I don't think they know." [From 47:40 nonwards]
Vinci attacked Crews after his latest loss on SmackDown, and he might indeed get a third crack at finally getting his first victory since his return to TV.
