The 12 years of wait comes to an end at this year’s Survivor Series as the WWE has confirmed that Brock Lesnar will once again square off against Goldberg.

For the past couple of weeks, tensions between the two were witnessed courtesy the launch of WWE 2K17, comments on Social media as well as subsequent appearances by both wrestlers and it has helped in sanctioning this long awaited rematch.

The Beast and the Myth had previously wrestled in the grandest event of sports entertainment, WrestleMania.

However, as both the superstars were rumoured to leave the company after the WrestleMania encounter, the fans didn’t pursue their interest in the epic clash. In fact, even the presence of Stone Cold Steve Austin as the special guest referee could not save the match from being a disaster.

Since Lesnar’s return to WWE in 2012, the fans have been asking for another confrontation, and most importantly, a better rematch between him and Goldberg.

In the past, Sting and the Ultimate Warrior appeared in WWE after they were confirmed to be a part of the 2K games. As a result, the hype for ‘Brock Lesnar vs Goldberg’ reached a new extent when the former WCW World Champion was announced as the pre-order bonus for the WWE 2K17 game.

The 2K17 has Brock Lesnar on the cover, which made some fans feel that WWE will be promoting the game taking the advantage of the anticipated confrontation. However, the seeds of the rematch were planted when the two superstars expressed their desire to face each other during the game promotions.

Paul Heyman, the advocate of the Beast Incarnate, not only mocked Goldberg for just being a pre-order bonus character but also invited him to step inside the WWE ring against Brock Lesnar.

Hence, Goldberg made his return to WWE after 12 years to answer the challenge made by Heyman. Last week on RAW, he accepted the proposal, also mentioning that he feels he has one more match left in him.
