Cody Rhodes had a very emotional moment at SummerSlam and WWE has confirmed that his best friend had his final journey. The star had spoken about it earlier in the week.

Rhodes has made it a habit over his career, to travel with his dog Pharaoh, whenever going to different wrestling shows. The dog, his best friend, has been an inexorable part of his wrestling career and fans have been familiar with him as well. Earlier this week, Rhodes said that it would be Pharaoh's last-ever WWE road trip and that he would be staying home in the future as he was getting old.

At 13 years of age, Pharaoh showed up one last time during Cody Rhodes' SummerSlam entrance, accompanying him to the Gorilla position.

When he was making his entrance, WWE announcer Corey Graves officially confirmed that it was indeed the dog's last-ever trip. He commented on how emotional a moment it was for Rhodes, and that Pharaoh had stood by the star's side for years through all of his wrestling journey. He added that he was truly Cody's best friend and the journey was ending at SummerSlam.

"Did you see Cody's face when he leaned down to kiss Pharaoh? This is Pharaoh's final trip on the road. He has stood by Cody's side for years, all the miles, all the towns, all the travels. Truly Cody's best friend. And that journey ends tonight."

Cody Rhodes had a very emotional WWE SummerSlam

Not only was it the final wrestling journey for Cody Rhodes' dog, but it was also an emotional night for him otherwise. His family was there at the show, and he also met up with Arn Anderson before his entrance - a star who was very familiar with his father and who has always been close to Cody too.

The star ended up winning in the night when his biggest rival, Roman Reigns, returned and helped him put away Solo Sikoa. He left the night as the champion, one of only two stars retaining their titles at SummerSlam, where four titles changed hands.
