WWE drops major hint that The Rock is set to return

The WWE Universe has been buzzing over The Rock's expected comeback since his surprise appearance at the end of Bad Blood in October. As WrestleMania 41 season approaches, there's an increase in rumors and speculation on when Rock will be back to turn up the heat, and now a potential clue is raising eyebrows.

The Final Boss made a big impact on WrestleMania XL when he returned earlier this year. Amid rumors on significant future plans for Rock and other top WWE Superstars, the third-generation superstar finally made a surprise appearance at the end of Bad Blood in October, shooting an apparent look of disapproval at Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns, and Jimmy Uso. There are still all sorts of rumored matches being speculated for WrestleMania 41, including Rock vs. Roman, and Rock vs. Cody.

The Rock remains a top draw for WWE, and this was clear when he returned under an unprecedented contract that saw TKO give him complete ownership of his name, logos, and other related IP. Fans are speculating on The Rock returning soon, perhaps at the RAW Netflix premiere on January 6, after WWE Shop released new Christmas merchandise for the Hollywood heavyweight.

Rock's new Santa Hat holiday sweater created in conjunction with Ripple Junction is priced at $44.99 with the TITLE40 passcode, down from $59.99. The item is almost sold out, if not already out of stock. WWE Shop also has a Rock Holiday sweater from ProSphere, priced at $74.99, but it does not ship out until January 8.

The People's Champion wrapped up 2024 with strong numbers in Hollywood. In addition to the Moana sequel for Disney, Rock starred in the Christmas-themed action comedy Red One with Chris Evans, Lucy Liu, and JK Simmons. This is the first film of a new Christmas-themed action film franchise. Despite numerous negative reviews from critics, the movie has grossed $182.9 million worldwide with a budget of $200-$250 million.

The Rock reveals Christmas gifts

The Rock took some time off this year to spend the Christmas holidays with family. The 52-year-old wrestler-turned-actor is father to NXT's Ava, from his first marriage, and is father to two daughters with his current wife.

The Great One took to Instagram this weekend to reveal an ink pen he received from daughter Jasmine, who was born on December 16, 2015. He included photos of the pen he received, plus photos of a watch, chain and pendant, and a pineapple that has a Fabergé egg feel to it.

The Rock is expected to wrestle in the next few months. He returned to the ring at WrestleMania XL back in April, teaming with Roman Reigns to defeat Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins on Night One. This was Rock's first match since squashing Erick Rowan at WrestleMania 32 in 2016, and since dropping the WWE Championship to John Cena in a 24-minute match at WrestleMania 29 in 2013.
