A WWE Hall of Famer recently opened up about how Hulk Hogan got him fired from a major company, which had long-term repercussions on his career. Jesse Ventura didn't hold back before slamming Hogan for his backstage politicking.
While Hogan is consistently and deservingly ranked among the most influential performers in wrestling history, his career is not free from some serious allegations. Innumerable backstage stories about the WWE legend paint a rather complicated picture of his time in the business.
In a recent appearance on the Bill Simmons podcast, Jesse Ventura opened up about the time Eric Bischoff joined WCW as its new head and then brought in Hulk Hogan. Ventura claimed that Hogan immediately got him fired from the now-defunct promotion because he wanted to emulate his wrestling persona.
“Eric Bischoff then got the head job at WCW, and then behind my back, he went out and got Hogan. He (Hogan) came in, got me immediately fired because he took over my look. He put the shades on, he put the do-rag on, and he became a villain. He couldn’t have Jesse Ventura be there and become Jesse Ventura, so he got me fired, and in essence, my wrestling career was over.” (H/T - InsideTheRopes)

Vince Russo thinks Jesse Ventura and Hulk Hogan could come face-to-face at WWE's Saturday Night's Main Event
While Ventura has been announced as a commentator for the upcoming special event, Hulk Hogan has also been rumored to be part of the show. Amid this, speaking on Sportskeeda's Legion of RAW, Vince Russo stated that he would love to see Ventura confront Hogan at the event if the latter were to appear.
"Bro, you really want to know? I would have Jesse call him out for stooging him off to Vince about the union. That's what I would do. Once and for all, Jesse is going to say something right to his face, 'I've never forgotten this and you're not going to deny this in front of me, that's what I would do.'"
Ventura and Hogan's issues go back a long way, as the latter was rumored to have informed Vince McMahon about the former's attempts to form a wrestling union in WWE before WrestleMania 2.
