WWE Hall of Famer appears outside the company; brutally attacks Hornswoggle

A WWE Hall of Famer continued to make appearances outside the company, this time in a local promotion in Wisconsin. John Bradshaw Layfield, more famously known as JBL, was at ACW Wisconsin on Friday to attack former Cruiserweight Champion Hornswoggle.

JBL was once in a feud with Finlay and Hornswoggle that culminated in a Belfast Brawl Match at WrestleMania 24. One of the highlights of the match was the former WWE Champion throwing a trash can directly at Hornswoggle outside.

On the latest ACW Wisconsin event last January 3 in Oshkosh, the self-proclaimed Wrestling God did it again to Hornswoggle. He found another trash can and tossed it at the former WWE star's face recalling their spot from 17 years ago.

JBL and Hornswoggle were pretty close when they were active wrestlers back in the day. They even made a bunch of videos for the iconic web series The JBL and Cole Show.

For those unaware, Hornswoggle is the owner of ACW Wisconsin. They hold local shows regularly, and JBL just gave them a big rub with his appearance. The former DX member signed a Legends deal back in October.

On the other hand, JBL has been making appearances outside of WWE since last year even though he's signed as an ambassador. He accompanied Nic Nemeth, formerly known as Dolph Ziggler, for his match at AAA's Triplemanía XXXII: Mexico City event back in August.

The 17-time Hardcore Champion is also set to appear at Game Changer Wrestling, TNA Wrestling, and Major League Wrestling.

Hornswoggle recalls JBL trash can spot at WrestleMania, praises WWE Hall of Famer

Speaking to Chris Van Vliet on Insight last May, Hornswoggle recalled the feud between JBL and Finlay. He revealed that the trash can spot was improvised and not part of the original plans for the match. He also had nothing but praise for the former WWE Champion:

"There’s the spot with the trash can in that match that wasn’t talked about (beforehand). Literally the last second I save my own life by just going, 'Nooo’ (dodges). He just whips this trash can because he saw me, and that's him thinking on the fly, and he whips the trash can. I had no idea. It wasn’t talked about, but it’s like the highlight of the match," Hornswoggle said. [H/T: WrestleTalk]

Hornswoggle also shared that the original idea for the feud was Vince McMahon vs. Finlay, and there were even plans to involve a championship.
