World Wrestling Entertainment's co-founder and former chairman Vince McMahon is currently under federal probe since ex-WWE employee Janel Grant filed a lawsuit against him for s*x trafficking and s*xual assault.
This is one among the many accusations directed against McMahon for the last several years. Grant's allegations proved to be so severe that the 78-year-old was forced to resign from his post as executive member of the TKO Group Holdings board, the parent company for WWE.
Ex-WWE wrestler Goldberg is a veteran of the industry, whose last appearance was for Vince McMahon's promotion, between 2016 to 2022. Unfortunately, things ended on a sour note for the Hall of Famer.
Be that as it may, the former World Heavyweight Champion does not intend to use his dislike for the former WWE Chairman to comment on the scandal. While speaking to 93.7 The Ticket, he was asked if he had anything to say regarding the matter:
"No, I really don’t. Everybody has an opinion, and again, it’s kind of like me asking you how you felt about your head coaches throughout the years, about your general managers throughout the years. It’s not fair for anybody to give an opinion based upon their own opinion and not be run through the wringer by other people based upon what they think of that. Because they weren't there. So as in all bosses, I think, former bosses, I mean, we had good times, and we had bad times, but that it is what it is." [H/T: Fightful]
Goldberg wrestled Roman Reigns at Elimination Chamber 2022 in Saudi Arabia for the Universal Championship, a belt he had previously held on two separate occasions. Despite an alleged handshake deal he had with Vince, Goldberg was not rewarded with a retirement match after putting over The Tribal Chief.
Goldberg thinks the current owners of WWE made the right decisions
Mark Shapiro disclosed last month that Vince McMahon is no longer associated with the Stamford-based promotion or its parent company in the wake of Janel Grant's lawsuit.
Goldberg further went on to say in the aforementioned interview that the decisions taken by the higher-ups in the TKO Group Holdings, Inc. were favorable to the masses. The former Universal Champion added that he would rather stay professional at this point instead of adding fuel to fire:
"So I think that the current owners of the WWE are going to make decisions based upon what they believe, and I think the decisions they have made have been favorable to the masses. Again, I will be this objective guy in answering a question. But yeah, personally, I’m not gonna give you an answer because that’s a personal…professionally, that’s the answer that I can give you because I try to be as professional as possible," said Goldberg.
At Survivor Series 2016, Goldberg shockingly vanquished Brock Lesnar in 1 minute and 26 seconds, marking his first WWE match in 12 years. The Hall of Famer's feud with The Beast, which culminated at WrestleMania the following year, was very well-received by fans.
