WWE Hall of Famer Pete Rose sadly passed away today at 83. The legend was the first celebrity inducted into the company's Hall of Fame in 2004.
According to a report from TMZ, Pete Rose passed away today at his home in Las Vegas. Rose still holds the MLB all-time record for most hits at 4,256. He also holds the record for most games played at 3,562. Despite holding both of those records, Rose was never inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame due to a betting scandal in 1989.
The legend eventually admitted to betting on games, but his lifetime ban from baseball was never lifted. Rose spent the majority of his playing career with the Cincinnati Reds, and their lineup was referred to as the "Big Red Machine" for their dominance. Pete Rose also spent time as a player/manager for the Reds during the 1980s.
Rose made several appearances on WWE television back in the day. He was famously on the receiving end of a Tombstone Piledriver by Kane at WrestleMania 14 and also was the victim of a stink face by Rikishi at WWE WrestleMania 2000.
We at Sportskeeda Wrestling would like to send our condolences to Rose's fans and his family at this difficult time.
