A major WWE Hall of Famer was asked to step back into the ring and compete in a match on next week's episode of NXT. However, he turned down Trick Williams' request.
Williams defended his NXT Championship against Ethan Page at Halloween Havoc in a Devil's Playground match. After the bout, he was attacked by All Ego and Ridge Holland. Bubba Ray Dudley made his first on-screen WWE appearance since WrestleMania XL during the event and helped Trick fend off the heels.
On the latest episode of NXT, Trick invited the ECW veteran to the ring. Bubba Ray said he was just trying to do what was right, and it wasn't so much about the NXT Champion. He mentioned that Ethan Page and Ridge Holland disrespected him and David LaGreca on the Halloween Havoc pre-show, so he intervened when he saw that nobody tried to help Trick.
Bubba Ray Dudley advised Trick to have eyes on the back of his head since he was the NXT Champion. The latter said he wanted revenge on Ethan Page and Holland.
He asked Bubba Ray to team up with him to take on the two heel stars next week, but the WWE Hall of Famer refused because he didn't want to take anyone's spot on the show.
