WWE star Jacob Fatu recently faced some social media backlash owing to some allegations against him. However, Hall of Famer Teddy Long believes the allegations are not true.

Fatu was allegedly paid to appear at a wrestling event organized by Jake's Network of Hope, a non-profit organization, in 2023. However, he apparently no showed the event and failed to return the paid amount of $2,633. It was later noted that the amount had been paid back to the organization, with Jacob apologizing.

Before it was known that the matter had been resolved, many had been quick to condemn Jacob Fatu. Teddy Long, on Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Time Machine hosted by Mac Davis, was, however, quite strongly in favor of the WWE star.

"With Jacob Fatu man, I mean golly, one of the nicest guys you could ever meet. You know that's just, he's not like that. He is no guy that would, you know, try to stiff none of the promoters. I just don't see him doing that. So I think this maybe some misunderstanding here." [5:16 onwards]

What did the non-profit organization say about the WWE star returning the amount?

After it was found out that Jacob had already paid back the amount he had been given, Jake's Network of Hope issued a statement acknowledging their mistake.

In the statement, they made it clear that the WWE star had reached out to them, and the ensuing dialogue had led to a proper resolution. The statement noted:

"In May, Jacob Fatu reached out with a heartfelt apology, initiating a meaningful dialogue that allowed us to work together with all parties involved to find solutions and fully resolve the matter. This event aimed to confront the challenging realities of poverty and the immense obstacles to overcoming it. While not everything unfolded perfectly, we are grateful for the awareness raised around diaper need and the substantial costs of providing essential products to families."
