Recent racism accusations against Hulk Hogan have again made him a hot topic of discussion in the WWE community. However, Hall of Famer Teddy Long believes the accusations are too premature to be believed.
Hogan was accused of racist behavior after he allegedly fired a social media influencer who was previously contracted to promote his Real American Beer beverage. A spokesperson for the brand recently addressed the accusations, claiming that Hogan was not at all involved in the decision.
On Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Time Machine hosted by Mac Davis, Teddy Long was asked to share his thoughts on the matter. The WWE veteran stated:
"The last thing you said at the end there, you know that wasn't a decision made by Hogan, that was a decision made by the company. To me, that seems right. You know what I mean, I think the young lady, I don't know her, but sometimes people can jump the gun. Just because you was gone they let you go and then they bring in some white person to replace you, you know that always falls under that you know, that racism. Sometimes, it is really not." The WWE Hall of Famer believes the accusations are a result of unfortunate timing
Teddy Long believes that Hulk Hogan being accused at this time may not entirely be the accuser's, Essence Jenai, idea.
Speaking on the same episode of The Wrestling Time Machine, the WWE Hall of Famer stated that Hulk Hogan's previous racism accusations may have played a part.
"The timing was right. In the past, that has followed Hogan, you know what I mean? So somebody somewhere, this girl might not even know that but somebody smartened her up to it." [5:00 onwards]
It remains to be seen if any new facts will emerge regarding Hogan's controversy.
