For many fans, the timeline is still surreal — CM Punk is wrestling for WWE in 2024. When Punk interacted with a legendary wrestler on television, it was another surreal moment as the two seemingly had beef. But that simply is not true.

WWE Hall of Famer Booker T recently clarified that he and Punk never had any beef, and he feels they are too old to hold grudges against one another. Having met a few days ago at NXT in Chicago, Booker revealed that he "had words" with the Chicago native.

Speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker discussed the former AEW World Champion's time there as well as his run in UFC. While the Hall of Famer admitted that he did say some things about Punk's UFC run, he clarified it was never "derogatory" or "mean-spirited":

"I don't know if you guys noticed. On Tuesday night NXT, I ran into CM Punk. We had words. The thing is, it was refreshing. I know people were tripping when they saw me and CM Punk. CM Punk and I, we really never had any beef. We really never did. People really thought that when he was in AEW. I don't think CM Punk and I really ever had any beef. Did I say some things about CM Punk specifically when he was in the UFC? Yeah, I did. I don't think I said anything derogatory or mean-spirited," Booker said. [From 14:24 to 15:26]

Punk's next in-ring contest is scheduled for Bad Blood on October 5, where he will look to end things once and for all with his rival, Drew McIntyre. Is it possible McIntyre can turn babyface against his uber-popular opponent? Legendary wrestler Tommy Dreamer believes it is plausible.

Drew McIntyre pays homage to The Rock vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin, says CM Punk will be "history"

Often cited as the greatest WWE pay-per-view ever produced, WrestleMania 17 featured The Rock vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin in the main event.

The two men fought tooth and nail in what was also monumental in that it marked the end of the Attitude Era. Their promo for this high-profile showdown featured the iconic Limp Bizkit song, "My Way," which Drew McIntyre used for his rivalry with The Straight Edge Superstar. He also hilariously tweaked a memorable line from the song:

"Just one more fight and he’ll be history…," Drew McIntyre wrote.

After nine whole months of bickering and battering, it is likely that these two bitter rivals will move on after Bad Blood's Hell in a Cell Match. WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker believes both men are competing to see who will eventually get to face World Heavyweight Champion Gunther.
