Former WWE head writer Vince Russo feels the company will hope Roman Reigns returns in time for SummerSlam. The Tribal Chief could be slotted into a match against Solo Sikoa.

Reigns last made a match against Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania XL. He lost the Undisputed title to Cody, bringing an end to his historic championship reign. The Tribal Chief has not been seen on WWE TV since then and in his absence, Solo has assumed the position of the leader of The Bloodline.

This week on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Legion of RAW, Russo claimed that WWE was possibly banking for Roman vs. Solo and Cody Rhodes vs. The Rock as the two marquee matches for SummerSlam. But the former WWE writer noted that The Final Boss may not be back till WrestleMania which meant the company needed Roman Reigns.

"I would think that the two money matches that they're banking on right now are Roman-Solo and Cody-Rock. That's what I would think. Do you think we're not gonna see Cody-Rock till WrestleMania?" [6:00 onwards]

This past week on SmackDown, The Bloodline attacked Paul Heyman. They sent the Wiseman through the announcer's table. Heyman had to be taken to a hospital after the brutal assault.

It will be interesting to see if this attack provokes Roman Reigns to return and avenge his special council.
