Tensions between Owens and Cody had been boiling in the last few weeks, promising a heated affair when the two got inside the ring. It's safe to say the two performers delivered and how with their main event match. The outcome was never in question as Cody Rhodes retained his Undisputed WWE Title.
However, what took everyone by surprise was how things panned out after the match. Kevin Owens was far from pleased after losing and unleashed a brutal assault on Cody. Owens took out The American Nightmare with a Package Piledriver, after putting Randy Orton on the shelf a few weeks back with a banned piledriver.

He then proceeded to steal Rhodes' title and later got into a scuffle with Triple H near the entrance area. For the show, Triple H had gifted Rhodes the Winged Eagle version of the WWE Title. WWE has now posted the clip of KO walking away with the Winged Eagle title and wrote a stern message condemning his actions.
"This has gone WAY too far… something needs to happen here. He can’t keep doing this!!! 😤👎#SNME."
