SummerSlam 2024 will be hosted by a WWE legend who belongs to Cleveland, Ohio. The announcement surprised everybody and seemingly canceled the superstar's plan for a title match.

The camera cut backstage this week, where The Miz had a massive announcement to make. Being a native of Cleveland, he announced that he will be the host of SummerSlam 2024.

This will delay his plans to pursue the World Tag Team Championship. After losing them to The Judgment Day, The Miz wanted a title shot at the upcoming premium live event. That, unfortunately, will not be happening.

The World Tag Team Titles will not even be on the line at the Biggest Party of the Summer. Meanwhile, the WWE Tag Team Titles held by DIY will be defended on the SmackDown before the event.

Why there's no tag team match isn't known, but The Miz seems the perfect fit for the role—something he's done at even WrestleMania.

The host role is reportedly given to superstars who don't have much planned for them creatively. After losing the World Tag Team Titles, The Miz and R-Truth seem to have taken a step back.
