WWE legend Bret Hart sends condolences following major star's death

WWE legend, Bret Hart sent his condolences after a major star tragically passed away. The veteran was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2006.

NHL star, Johnny Gaudreau and his brother were tragically killed yesterday in a car crash in New Jersey. The Columbus Blue Jackets star and his brother, Matthew Gaudreau, were riding bicycles when a 43-year-old man struck them with his car. The man (Sean Higgins) was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol during the time of the crash.

Bret Hart took to his Instagram account to share a photograph with the late hockey star, and sent his condolences to the Gaudreau family, noting how heartbreaking the situation was.

"So senseless and heartbreaking. 💔 I’m really sorry to hear of the passing of Johnny Gaudreau and his brother Matthew and my thoughts are with their family and friends during this difficult time," he wrote.

Bill Apter reacts to Bret Hart's comments about WWE Hall of Famer

Veteran wrestling journalist, Bill Apter, recently reacted to Bret 'The Hitman' Hart taking shots at Shawn Michaels.

The Heartbreak Kid defeated Hart in a controversial fashion at Survivor Series 1997. Michaels locked in a Sharpshooter on The Hitman and Vince McMahon called for the bell without a submission. The event is now infamously known as the 'Montreal Screwjob' and is still talked about to this day.

Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's The Wrestling Time Machine podcast, Apter reacted to Hart's comments about wanting to knock out Michaels on the Attitude Era Podcast. Apter noted that Hart had previously forgiven Michaels, and was surprised to hear him bring up their issues yet again.

"Well, I think he forgave Shawn Michaels, he made amends with him," Apter said. "To hear him now spit up Shawn's name again in the thing that you were just reading is surprising to me, but it's a huge piece of history, that Montreal Screwjob. It tuned everybody watching for years afterwards to find out what really happened there." [7:23 – 7:57]

Bret Hart also recently stated that hitting former WWE CEO Vince McMahon in the face following the Montreal Screwjob was the greatest punch of his life. It will be interesting to see if the 67-year-old Hall of Famer makes any more appearances on WWE television down the line.
