WWE legend Bully Ray recently made three appearances for the Stamford-based promotion. While the fans have shared a positive response regarding his brief comeback, a popular pro wrestling journalist, Jim Valley, made some distasteful comments about him. Now, the Dudley Boy has reacted to these comments.
The WWE Hall of Famer (aka Bubba Ray Dudley) was first seen at Halloween Havoc, where he saved Trick Williams from Ethan Page and Ridge Holland. The duo had ganged up on Williams after he defeated All Ego to retain the NXT Championship.
Following this, Bully got into a brawl with Page and Holland and teamed up with Williams for a tag team match last week. The 2300 Arena saw the Philadelphia crowd roaring as the four men fought. Surprisingly, Ray’s team lost as Trick Willy was rolled up for a pin by the former Chase University member.
Despite just three appearances and a loss, Wrestling Observer’s Jim Valley criticized The Dudley Boy for hogging up space selfishly. He called the Hall of Famer an “insufferable old guy” who was still hanging around to satisfy his ego.

Moreover, he recently posted a tweet asking how Bully Ray was relevant in 2024, saying that he would be better off showing up on rare occasions. Responding to this, Ray wrote:
“Jim, I made a save on a PLE and have been on TV 2x in the past year…all within 3 weeks. How much more rare would you like? You’re just mad a show I was lucky to be a part of came onto your fave Co’s night and beat you in the ratings. Cry me a river. xo. Ratings God.”
Bully Ray’s teammate D-Von Dudley also showed up at WWE NXT
Last week’s episode of NXT also saw the appearance of the other half of The Dudley Boys, D-Von Dudley. The Hall of Famer showed up when Bully Ray asked Trick Williams to bring the tables to punish Ethan Page, but there were no tables under the ring. Hyping up the crowd, Ray’s longtime tag team partner had brought a table with him to finish the job.
D-Von Dudley was also the featured artist in Trick Willy’s diss track against Ethan Page called Tricky Whoopin’. Despite him also making these two appearances, Jim Valley didn’t fire any shots at him and directed them only at Ray. So far, the journalist hasn’t backed down from his claim and has doubled down on his words after Bully Ray’s response.
