A WWE legend recently made a surprise appearance during a big premium live event, where he even stepped into the ring after the night's main event and delivered a few blows to two stars. The Hall of Famer protected a reigning champion from getting ambushed and now, the star, Bully Ray, has confirmed he will compete in his first WWE match since August 2016.

Also known by his ring name of Bubba Ray Dudley, the WWE legend last competed against Neville and Sami Zayn in a losing effort alongside his buddy D’Von Dudley. At Halloween Havoc, he saved Trick Williams from being attacked by the duo of Ethan Page and Ridge Holland following his successful title defense.

On this week’s episode of NXT, Trick asked Ray if he would like to be his tag partner against All Ego and the former Chase University member. The legend said that he was excited to wrestle again, but rejected the offer. However, he changed his mind after Holland and Page trash-talked against him and attacked him during a segment later in the night.

Williams jumped in to save the legend, who asked the NXT Champion if he was still looking for a tag team partner and Trick Willy said yes.

Thus, next week's NXT ECW in Philadelphia will see the Hall of Famer trade blows with Holland and Page alongside Williams. It would be interesting to see if the heel duo can take on the legend, or if they will get destroyed and Ray will succeed in putting them through some tables.
