Solo Sikoa has made it clear that his new-look version of The Bloodline does not need Roman Reigns to succeed. In a recent podcast episode, two-time WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash explained why the group's latest incarnation must improve.
Reigns has not appeared on television since losing the Undisputed WWE Championship to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania XL on April 7. Since then, Sikoa has taken over Tribal Chief duties and reinvented The Bloodline with the additions of Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, and Tonga Loa.
On Kliq This, Nash said The Bloodline no longer looks like it can draw money as Reigns' version of the stable did:
"Roman f***ing just looked like a movie star, you know? He was cool. He gave them such a different vibe than they have right now. That vibe, I don't feel it. It's just not as money. Like if you were to sell a poster, if Nike was selling shoes and The Bloodline was the poster, I just think that taking Rollins [Reigns] out of that mix is huge." [1:00:54 – 1:01:37]
Reigns' most successful Bloodline incarnation included Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso, Solo Sikoa, and special counsel Paul Heyman. Sami Zayn also briefly joined the group as an honorary member, while The Rock became part of the faction before WrestleMania XL.
Kevin Nash reacts to The Bloodline attacking Paul Heyman
On the June 28 episode of SmackDown, Paul Heyman remained loyal to Roman Reigns by refusing to acknowledge Solo Sikoa as The Tribal Chief. At Sikoa's request, the rest of his group put Heyman through the announce desk.
Kevin Nash joked that Heyman likely agreed to the idea instantly despite having reservations:
"I love Paul to death but you know when they pitched that he was just like [scared voice], 'Yeah, sure.' But, I mean, I guarantee you couldn't have drove a nail up his a** with a sledgehammer when they got him up in the air." [1:02:06 – 1:02:32]
On August 3, Sikoa will challenge Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship at SummerSlam.
