Goldberg's recent comments about former CEO and chairman of WWE, Vince McMahon, have led to another veteran commenting on the matter.

The WWE legend recently claimed that he was asked to put Roman Reigns over in Saudi Arabia by Vince McMahon, which he did on one condition. However, McMahon did not hold up his part of the bargain of giving Goldberg a proper retirement match, prompting the latter to call him out.

Speaking on Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Outlaws, NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion EC3 commented on the matter, saying that plans could have changed due to unforeseen circumstances.

"Sometimes, plans do change and maybe the idea that was to be the retirement send off had to be changed in time. That still can, and probably should, could, would happen. So maybe it's just a way to get that back in the verbiage and the lexicon of the wrestling fans, start talking about it so Bill does get a send-off. And he deserves a great send off. WWE veteran Jim Ross had previously talked about Vince McMahon's perception of Goldberg

According to Jim Ross, Vince McMahon was not especially taken with Goldberg's product knowledge in their first meeting.

Speaking on the Grillin JR podcast, Jim Ross stated:

“I think he liked him, you now Bill [Goldberg] had a lot of the same baggage, if you want to use that term, that sounds so negative. But guys that don’t grow up in the business… he did not watch wrestling. So, he knew who I was and we had a decent relationship in that respect, but I think Vince was probably underwhelmed of Bill’s lack pf product knowledge. But he [McMahon] sure as he*l liked the way he looked and he was intelligent and articulate. I remember that meeting, it was just, we didn’t have a… Our system wasn’t good and Goldberg was expecting big money. We weren’t ready to give out big money to neophytes, so to speak.”
