WWE Superstar John Cena recently opened up about his retirement from professional wrestling. The 16-time WWE World Champion will hang up his boots at the end of next year.

Cena had a surprise stint in WWE last year during the SAG-AFTRA strike. During this, he selflessly put over younger talents, including Solo Sikoa, who is now a big part of the current Bloodline storyline. However, since he announced that he would retire at the end of 2025, fans want the Triple H-led creative team to book The Franchise Player better in future matches.

John Cena recently made an appearance on YouTuber Kai Cenat's livestream to promote McDonald's newly launched Chicken Big Mac. During the stream, Cena was asked if he ever got bored of wrestling or acting because he had been doing it for so long.

The Cenation Leader said that he never lets his emotions get the better of him, which might harm his productivity.

Former WWE writer buries Judgment Day HERE

"So, each day you can have your own, 'Why?' and sometimes the, 'Why?' is the same for days, for weeks, for months, and for years. If I ever find myself unable, like I have sad times like everybody else. I get angry like everybody else. I get frustrated, but when the sadness becomes normal, when I don't have a day where I kick out when anger becomes normal, that's not me; that's not who I am," he said.

The 16-time WWE World Champion also mentioned that he always asked himself about the purpose of something he was doing. He added that when he failed to find an answer, he went in a different direction, which could be a reason for his decision to retire from in-ring activities.

"So, I ask myself, 'What the heck is wrong?' And a lot of times it's, I lost track of my, 'Why?' Why am I even doing this? And if I ask myself, and I can't give myself a good answer, I immediately pivot and go in another direction... So, I've been down, but I've never been out," he added. [51:56-53:34]

WWE legend Jerry Lawler does not think John Cena should use the word "retirement!"

During a conversation with Sportskeeda Wrestling's Senior Editor Bill Apter, WWE legend Jerry Lawler said he did not believe anyone should ever use the word "retirement," including John Cena.

"No, I don't think anybody should ever retire. There's too many things you can do without using the word retire. When I hear about somebody retiring, I look for them to die pretty soon, so I would never say that he's gonna retire," he said.
