Sheamus' physique was the talk of the wrestling world following his appearance on the April 15 episode of RAW. WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long noticed criticism of The Celtic Warrior online and believes fans are wrong to be so judgmental about his weight.

Before his victory over Ivar on Monday, Sheamus had not wrestled since losing to Edge on the August 18, 2023, episode of SmackDown. After returning, the four-time WWE world champion revealed he recently feared for his career due to a serious shoulder injury.

Long appeared on Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Time Machine alongside reporter Bill Apter and host Mac Davis. The wrestling legend gave the following response when asked whether he thinks Sheamus did not work out ahead of his return:

"Well, we really don't know," Long said. "We don't know that. You know what I mean? His injury may have been so severe that he probably maybe couldn't work out, maybe couldn't do anything, so we just don't know." [4:52 – 5:03]

Charlotte Flair to return and wrestle a CURRENT CHAMPION?

Moving forward, Long is certain the Irishman will return to peak condition if he focuses on dieting and working out:

"The other thing, too, is sometimes when you're off like that, you already know what's gonna happen if you ain't working out. You already know if you can't work out, then you certainly have to change your diet. That's what you have to do. If you can't work out, you gotta change the diet. So if you don't change that diet and you're just sitting around, you're gonna put that weight on you, you know? But hopefully him being back now, he can get a chance to get back in the gym, get the weight down, and get himself back right." [5:04 – 5:30]

Bill Apter pitches segment between Drew McIntyre and Sheamus

In the 2000s, Drew McIntyre and Sheamus formed a close friendship in Europe before moving to the United States to work for WWE.

Sportskeeda Wrestling Senior Editor Bill Apter would like McIntyre's heel persona to reference fans' criticism of his friend as part of a reality-based segment:

"Wouldn't it be a great angle if Drew McIntyre, the two of them have been so close for such a long time, enemies and friends, for Drew to look at him, 'What did you do to yourself?' No, seriously, that would be a great angle!" [6:17 – 6:30]

After his RAW return, Sheamus addressed the reaction to his physique with a four-word message on social media.
