WWE legend returns to give advice to Carmelo Hayes' girlfriend; gets assaulted by former champion

Carmelo Hayes' girlfriend Kelani Jordan may have lost her status as the NXT Women's North American Champion recently, but big things still await her. In an incredible backstage segment, she interacted with a WWE legend who inspired her and moments after she left, the legend was assaulted by a former champion. This was Rob Van Dam being attacked by Wes Lee.

Carmelo Hayes' partner Kelani Jordan was booked to be a part of the stacked ten-woman tag team match on the NXT-ECW special as she was announced to be a part of the elite team including Giulia, Stephanie Vaquer, Jordynne Grace, and Zaria.

Backstage in NXT during the ECW show, Kelani Jordan got to have a cool interaction with her idol - WWE legend Rob Van Dam. She regularly does the split legs stretching that RVD is known for. The legend gave her some words of affirmation, telling her to take care of Fallon Henley in her tag team match ahead of their title rematch next week.

However, after Kelani Jordan left, ex-North American Champion Wes Lee would assault him as he was heading to General Manager Ava's office.

Lee has been a menace on NXT of late and a match against RVD would be a dream bout, but that doesn't seem to be on the cards yet. Perhaps this was a tease for a future match between veteran and up-and-comer at some point.

As for Kelani Jordan, she will be looking to get revenge on Fallon Henley - the women who dethroned her.

Carmelo Hayes has repeatedly expressed support for his partner, even after her recent title loss.
