A WWE legend recently opened up about being snubbed for the Hall of Fame over the years. Ken Shamrock has not been seen on television since his last match in 1999 but has continued to have a relationship with the company.
Shamrock began his stint in WWE in 1997 after a successful career in mixed martial arts (MMA). He was in the company for about two years before leaving in September 1999 to resume his MMA career. His last televised match ended in a loss to Chris Jericho in a First Blood match on September 21 that year.
Speaking to Chris Van Vliet on the latest episode of Insight, Shamrock was asked about potentially getting into the Hall of Fame after 9130 days of his last appearance. The WWE legend revealed he was not losing any sleep over the topic, only thinking of it when people ask.
"Obviously, any athlete that goes through a career and has made an impact wants to be recognized, and I do want to be recognized. But I don't think of it until it's brought up, right? It's not something that I dwell on because I felt like everything that I've done in my life, I've been blessed to have been in those moments," he said.

Shamrock is content about his wrestling career, especially with his two short years in WWE.
"What comes after that is just icing on the cake. And if that happens, it's going to be a true thrill. But, like I said, it's not something that I lose sleep over. I've really enjoyed my journey and very happy with the way my life has turned out." [H/T chrisvanvliet.com]
Ken Shamrock on his relationship with WWE
In the same interview with Chris Van Vliet, Ken Shamrock discussed his relationship with WWE since his release. Shamrock revealed that he maintained contact with the company and signed a Legends contract over the years.
"I've had a relationship with them forever, even since when I went away, we did a legends contract, so I've always been a part of them. It's one of those things where I think I spent enough time there and did enough there that I feel like I'm a part of that family forever," Shamrock said. [H/T chrisvanvliet.com]
Shamrock was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame in 2003, while TNA Wrestling inducted him into their Hall of Fame back in 2020.
