Former WWE CEO Vince McMahon was known for his decidedly controversial storylines, some of which apparently never even made it to TV. A veteran recently talked about one such storyline that involved Stephanie McMahon.

In the Netflix docuseries about Vince McMahon, it was shown that Vince once pitched a plot that involved him being presented as the father of Stephanie's child. The angle was ultimately scrapped, especially considering Stephanie had flat-out refused to do it.

Speaking on Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Time Machine hosted by Mac Davis, Teddy Long talked about how the controversial idea could have made for good TV anyway. He said:

"It's fu**ing good TV. It's great TV! Because... Somewhere in America, that has happened. Anytime a man would blow himself up and have his own funeral, he will do anything... Well, you can't get mad at him, he was trying. But that's what makes him a real heel. I mean you think about that, if they'd have pulled that off, think how many people would have hated him." The WWE Hall of Famer further commented on Vince McMahon's character

While Teddy Long was not exactly against the controversial storyline, he did admit that it may have caused more harm than good. Long also agreed with the fact that while the storyline may have pushed the boundaries, it might have also caused harm to the advertisers.

Adding to his previous comments on Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Time Machine, the WWE Hall of Famer stated:

"That might have been really a bit too much. You know what I mean, that might have killed his audience and maybe did some harm to some advertisers or something. So that might have been a bit too much. But, Vince is one of those guys, you know what I mean, he'll try, see what happens. He knows it ain't real, but let's see if they'll buy it. " [7:30 onwards]

Currently, neither Vince McMahon nor Stephanie are an official part of WWE.
