An assassination attempt was made on Donald Trump's life a couple of months ago. In a recent press appearance, The Rock has finally given his thoughts on this.

Donald Trump may be one of the most controversial US Presidents in recent history. Despite this, he seemingly has a loyal fan base who will listen to his every word. But his controversial opinions have also attracted a lot of haters towards him. It was suggested one of those people could have been behind the recent attempt on his life.

On July 13, 2024, Donald Trump, who is part of the current presidential race, was speaking at a campaign rally near Butler, Pennsylvania when a gunman tried to assassinate him. As a fallout of this tragic event, two people lost their lives and several others were injured. The security team at the event was reportedly able to kill the alleged shooter within seconds after the first shot was fired.

Donald Trump only suffered a bloody ear and was able to walk away from the incident without any major injury. Since the incident, several people have spoken up about it.

During a recent appearance at The Vault Conference, WWE legend The Rock finally spoke up about the assassination attempt, stating that this does not represent what America is as a country.

“Whether you love Donald or you don’t love Donald, it doesn’t matter. They tried to assassinate him, there’s no room for that, and despite who we were in that moment, I believe in my core that is not who we are as a country. So, him standing up in that moment, we wanted to see that.”

Peter Rosenberg believes John Cena should invoke The Rock during his retirement tour

John Cena announced earlier this year that he would be retiring from WWE next year. He also announced his own retirement tour that will see him compete at one more Royal Rumble and WrestleMania before finally hanging up his boots for good. This announcement resulted in a lot of speculation over how his retirement tour should pan out.

During a recent episode of Cheap Heat, Peter Rosenberg suggested that John Cena take a page out of The Rock's playbook and turn heel just like The Great One did earlier this year.

"Or we can be inspired by what The Rock did last year and show that you can show up as a part-timer, who has kind of graduated from the everyday roster and be part of a real consequential story. 'Cause that's what The Rock did last year. He was a consequential piece of a huge story, where he was willing to be the bad guy, well, however, he got there, he was the bad guy," he added. It will be interesting to see how WWE will book John Cena's retirement tour next year.
