The Rock has been known to surprise friends and family members with unexpected gifts. In an exclusive interview, former WWE manager Harvey Wippleman opened up about the Hollywood star giving him a car as a Christmas present.
In 2020, The Rock posted a video of himself alongside Wippleman on the set of the NBC television series Young Rock. The TKO board member reminisced about Wippleman helping him buy a car during his teenage years. He then revealed that the Ford F-150 behind them was a gift for his long-time friend.
Wippleman spoke to Sportskeeda Wrestling Senior Editor Bill Apter about the WWE icon's generosity:
"Well, how can I not say when he surprised me for Christmas in 2020 with a brand-new Ford F-150 that's sitting right out in front of my house right now? How could anybody top that? You know what I mean? He surprised the hell out of me. I mean, he didn't owe me that. He didn't owe me anything. The only thing he owes me is his friendship, and he's reciprocated above and beyond that." [14:56 – 15:26]

Harvey Wippleman's relationship with The Rock
At age 15, The Rock thought he was going to Nashville, Tennessee, to stay with his late father Rocky Johnson. However, Johnson decided at the last minute he wanted his son to stay with family friend Harvey Wippleman instead.
More than three decades on, Wippleman added that he and The Final Boss still frequently talk to each other:
"On a regular basis. It's mostly texting and voice memos, but we communicate. We don't speak per se that often, but we stay in contact on a regular basis." [18:54 – 19:08]
Wippleman worked as an executive consultant on Young Rock before the show ended due to the actors' and writers' strikes in 2023.
