Dominik Mysterio recently sat down for an interview with WWE Hall of Famers Bully Ray and Mark Henry, alongside host Dave LaGreca. During the appearance, the former NXT North American Champion revealed the reason behind his "happy guy" persona after Ray asked him to stop smiling for a major reason.
The 27-year-old star has embraced a heel persona since turning his back on his father, Rey Mysterio, and aligning himself with The Judgment Day in 2022. This villainous turn was further amplified when Dirty Dom shockingly betrayed Rhea Ripley and joined forces with Liv Morgan at SummerSlam 2024.
On the Busted Open podcast, Dominik Mysterio began the interview with a wide smile on his face. However, Bubba Ray Dudley advised the RAW Superstar to temper his smile, reminding him that heels typically don't exude excessive happiness.
Responding to WWE Hall of Famer, Dirty Dom mentioned that he considers himself a good-looking heel and that maintaining a positive appearance, including a smile, is crucial for his character. He also acknowledged Liv Morgan's presence, stating that he cannot appear sad while being accompanied by a "pretty girl."

"I'm a good-looking heel; that's why I gotta smile. I got a pretty face; I got to show people I got nice teeth, the hair, [and] the mustache. [sic] If I stayed sad the whole time, I got Liv [Morgan] with me; she's a pretty girl. I can't be just walking around all sad; I'm a happy guy!" Dominik Mysterio said. [From 00:08 to 00:26]
