WWE and former UFC athlete Brock Lesnar is currently on hiatus. As many fans hope to see him back in the ring at some point, WWE Hall of Famer John "Bradshaw" Layfield recalls Lesnar as a "tough b**tard" for his blading methods.
The use of blood on WWE programming has been a controversial topic, but one that the company appears to be slowly reverting back to, should the rivalry warrant it. CM Punk and Drew McIntyre's feud culminated in a bloody Hell in a Cell match at Bad Blood in October.
On the latest episode of Something To Wrestle, JBL was asked whether blading should be kept in the rearview mirror or brought back. The Hall of Famer feels that it is better left behind but noted that the use of blood does help create drama in certain rivalries. Back in the day, wrestlers used to blade a lot, as The Wrestling God recounted:
"I think [blading] is better in the rearview mirror. It's been so exposed. Not that—it does add to drama, obviously. I remember Brock [Lesnar] would literally run into a pole and just bust himself open. He's just a tough b**tard," JBL recalled. "I don't think [blading] probably has a place, if you do it sporadically and occasionally, I think it can still be done well. But I'm not sold on that, and that's not a hill that I'm going to die on." [From 1:20:51 to 1:21:26]

Brock Lesnar's last WWE match was at SummerSlam 2023, where he passed the torch to Cody Rhodes. Eight months later, The American Nightmare captured his first World Title in World Wrestling Entertainment.
Paul Heyman comments on Brock Lesnar's whereabouts
The Wiseman, Paul Heyman, was once Brock Lesnar's advocate. Arguably, Heyman's most important client was The Beast Incarnate.
In a recent interview with ClutchPoints, The Wiseman responded to Lesnar's status in WWE as something that is ultimately up to the man himself. He hinted that there is a possibility the ex-UFC mauler will never be seen in the ring again, but at the end of the day, The Beast has to decide:
"I don't have that answer because Brock Lesnar is not in the public eye, which affords him a level of privacy that I would never violate. So, if Brock Lesnar is of the desire to ever be in the public eye again, he'll let you know when the time is right. He's earned the right to that privacy. Brock Lesnar's a private man, a private beast. Should he wish to be in the public eye, he will be, and should he wish never to be seen again, you've seen the last of Brock Lesnar," Paul Heyman said.
As seen in the post above, Lesnar was seen with his daughter Mya Lesnar in a rare public appearance amid his absence from World Wrestling Entertainment. A match against World Heavyweight Champion Gunther is one that fans are salivating over. WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker also hopes that it happens.
