WWE periodically releases quite a few stars for various reasons. According to veteran journalist Bill Apter, a particular name should not have been let go.

The star in question is Dolph Ziggler, now known as Nic Nemeth in TNA. He was released from the company in September last year, ending an almost two-decade run in WWE. His talent is unquestionable, with even legends like Ric Flair praising him. The 44-year-old became the TNA World Champion after taking down Moose at Slammiversary.

Speaking on Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Time Machine, hosted by Mac Davis, Bill Apter agreed with Ric Flair's comments that Nic Nemeth's release from the Triple H-led company was a mistake.

"It was said very well by Ric Flair recently, who commented that WWE never should have let this guy get away from them. This guy was a real gem there, and they never really gave him... They gave him championships and stuff like this, but you could have done a lot more," Apter noted. [10:42 onwards]

Bill Apter thinks Nic Nemeth was not utilized fully in WWE

According to the veteran journalist, Nic's talents were hardly used to their full potential despite having several championship belts.

In addition to his comments on the Wrestling Time Machine episode, Apter stated that Nic Nemeth was versatile enough to work with any opponent. With TNA undergoing some big changes, Nemeth was an excellent choice for carrying their world title.

"He has got amazing charisma. He comes across great on TV, and he is a really good wrestler in the ring. He can work with anybody, big guys, small guys. He is a very compelling personality. Now that TNA has reshuffled what they are doing in so many ways, he is a good person to, you know, help lead that company into the new Era of TNA." [11:17 onwards]

It remains to be seen what is next for the former WWE champion in TNA.
