Former WWE manager Dutch Mantell has claimed that the company could make a few adjustments and build a new singles opponent for Roman Reigns. The Original Tribal Chief showed up on SmackDown last night.
After Cody Rhodes defeated Solo Sikoa in the Steel Cage Match last night, The Bloodline launched an attack on The American Nightmare. However, Roman Reigns showed up and laid waste to the faction. The Original Tribal Chief came face-to-face with Jacob Fatu before Solo intervened and avoided a full-blown brawl.
This week on Smack Talk, Mantell said that WWE now had the option to insert The Samoan Werewolf in the story if needed. Notably, the company has been building to an eventual showdown between Roman and Solo for the past few months. However, Jacob Fatu has now emerged as a formidable opponent for the former Universal Champion.
The 74-year-old pointed out that the Stamford-based promotion had enough time to build Solo's Enforcer as a major opponent for The OTC.

"That's the beauty of wrestling. Now you have time to sit back and see if you want to adjust. It's like a football game; you adjust the play to what's working. If it's too soon, they'll just make some adjustments and move on down. They have 51 weeks of the year to fix a mistake if they'd made one. They move so slowly now; I mean, things like that are not fixed but easily adjusted," he said. [From 18:47 onwards]
Meanwhile, the Original Tribal Chief will form an unlikely alliance with The American Nightmare at the Bad Blood PLE to take on Jacob Fatu and Solo Sikoa in a tag-team match. It will be interesting to see how things unfold in the coming weeks.
