Jade Cargill and Nia Jax faced off this week in the Queen of the Ring tournament. Former WWE manager Dutch Mantell felt this was one of the best matches on SmackDown this Friday.
The quarterfinal match between Jax and Cargill turned into a war of attrition when Nia talked trash to Jade's daughter, who was seated at ringside. The two women brawled near the timekeeper's area. Nia Jax tried to use a steel chair on her opponent but Cargill took the chair and smacked Jax with it, bringing the match to an end via disqualification.
On the latest episode of Sportskeeda Wrestling's Smack Talk, Mantell detailed he was excited to see this match on SmackDown. He noted that this was the first time these two stars were squaring off since their confrontation in the Women's Royal Rumble match. He felt Jade Cargill and Nia Jax complimented each other well and went hard at each other.
"I really liked the match. When I heard it, I'd forgotten that they were gonna have the match on SmackDown this week. When I tuned in, and I heard it, I said, 'Oh okay, now I know why I wanted to see it.' This is the first time they matched up right? They actually matched up pretty well." Mantell continued, "I think Jade is a good opponent for Nia Jax because they're two big girls and they can dish it out. So, I'm there for it." [From 8:57 onwards]

During the same conversation, Mantell mentioned that it was a creative way to end the match and keep Jade Cargill strong. He felt that WWE could advance her storyline in several ways in the coming weeks.
"Again I liked the finish because it left a lot of doors open. They got so many things they could do with just the way they ended that. Now they got four-five different ways they can go that will make sense." [From 8:20 onwards]
It will be interesting to see if Jade Cargill crosses paths with Nia Jax again on the blue brand.
